I completely forgot to make a new wallpaper for January, but here it is - better late than never, huh. The ribbons are from the Scrappin Cop - she makes so many great freebies, doesn't she?

http://www.4shared.com/January_2009_wallpaper.html
This weeks freebie is a rusty wire circle in .png format (details are shown in the magnifying glass), you can use it as a frame, or whatever you may like....:-)

These Valentine candy hearts in .png format come in 8 different colors. There is also an attached text sheet with approx. 48 different Valentine quotes.

http://www.4shared.com/Valentine_candy_hearts.html
Two different "Heart pills" in .png format + 48 different quotes. There is also one example of the "Heart pills" made in .psd format without any text. So you can either make your own text, or use the attached quotes. The candy hearts used here are resized to 25%, so they are smaller than the original hearts in the bag to the left.

http://www.4shared.com/Heart_pills.html

Here are a few Valentine links for you:

1. Make a small heart with your own text  http://www.cryptogram.com/hearts/
2. Here is the ACME heart maker http://www.acme.com/heartmaker/
3. Some eatable candy hearts with very funny quotes can be found here
    http://www.despair.com/bittersweets.html. I especially liked
"U left seat up" or "Dork magnet" - LOL.

Tip: To make the text on the Valentine candy heart look like
it is carved into the heart, do like this in PSP:

a)    First make some pink text and keep the selection (I used font Arial, bold)
b)    Apply "Effect", "3D Effect" and "Cut-out" with shadow color black from top/left
c)    Apply "Effect", 3D Effect" and "Cut-out" with shadow color white from bottom/right
d)    Adjust the text layer opacity to about 85-90%, to let the candy heart texture be slightly visible through the text
e)    Apply "Gaussian blur", radius approx. 0,6 in order to soften the edges a bit

I better not be late with my February wallpaper, as January was way too late - sorry! So here it is with a stamp frame, some paint splats, glitter, small hearts and butterflies. 1024 x 768 pixels in size and .png format.

16 different rectangular little tags. "Little tags 1" contains tags with a nylon tag pin, "Little tags 2" contains tags with a brad.

Little tags 1
                                         Little tags 2

http://www.4shared.com/Little_tags_2.html

This week I made a few circular tags and some "Cloudy papers". The papers are a bit coarse with different edges - folded, curled, ripped or worn, size 3600x3600 pixel. Maybe nice for some "dreamy" layouts ???

Click on the different thumbnails above to download. As the papers are made in .png format, the files are a bit large.

March wallpaper for your computer, 1024 x 768 pixels. I guess this will be the last wallpaper in a while, as I am not really good at making LO's, and besides I enjoy making the  elements more, so hope that you will bear with me .... :-)

Tina, you asked about some staples, so here is the first bag containing 10 backwards staples in different colors and .png format.

The staple fun continues! 10 staples in different colors and .png format.

Hmmm, so I had to try to make some cracked papers too, hope that you like them, they are a little coarse and dirty too. The bag contains 6 papers in .jpg format.

http://www.4shared.com/Cracked_paper.html

I know it is not eastern just yet, but I'll post this cracked egg tutorial anyhow.....

This crack is very easy to make, and you only have to make tree new layers to do it. The layers are (from top):

a. White cutout layer

b. Egg layer (this one is made already!)

c. Drop shadow layer

d. The inside of the egg

The tutorial is for PSP 9.0, but you should be able to make something similar in Photoshop too.

1. Open the egg file (I chose one of my own eggs from page 2).

2. Use the freehand selection tool (lasso) to make a selection for the crack in the egg. Keep the selection.

3. First we are going to make the "Inside of the egg" layer. If your egg has an "egg-like" texture, like this one above, then just adjust the brilliance, so that the selection becomes almost white, but a slight texture is still visible. Promote the selection to a layer and delete the same selection on your egg layer. Move the new "Inside of the egg" layer to the bottom. Keep the selection.

3a. If your egg has no "egg-like" texture, you will have to make one for the inside of the egg yourself. Fill the selection with white color, use "Adjust", "Ad/remove noise" and add some noise (35%, Gaussian, monochrome), and then use "Adjust", "Blur" and "Gaussian blur", radius 1. Promote the selection to a layer, and delete the same selection on your egg layer. Move the "Inside of the egg" layer to the bottom. Keep the selection.

4. Now for the "White cutout" layer, which is made to make the edges of the cracked eggshell visible. Still keeping the selection, add another layer, use "Effects", "3D effects" and "Cutout" (vertical and horizontal offset 2, shadow color white, opacity approx. 100% and blur 3). Keep the selection. Move this layer to the top. Keep the selection.

5. And finally the "Drop shadow" layer. Add another layer. Chose "Selections" and "Invert". Depending on your crack size and position, add a slight drop shadow, so that you can just sense the curved inside of the egg. Move this layer down, so that it is just above the "Inside of the egg" layer.

6. Merge all visible layers, and you have a cracked egg!

I have been working on a worn paper overlay, and just couldn't make it look the way I wanted to. But finally I think I came up with something acceptable. I used a lot of different brushes, and in order to make the edges look like real paper, I used a coarse white paper as material for the brushes, and finally I added some folded paper brushes from http://ubersuper.com/

I started out with an almost white overlay, but when I tried it on the papers above (green paper made by Gina Miller, blue beach paper made by me - and available for download later), I discovered that I actually liked the grungy brown edges, which in this case came from the paper itself.

So I decided to make another worn paper overlay which included some brown grungy edges too, and this is how it looked when I used the overlay on an orange and pink floral paper (again made by Gina Miller), which had no grungy edges:

This is how to use the overlays. You paste your own paper into the paper template and make a new layer and paste the overlay into this layer. You might have to move the overlay a little around, but it will cover the paper edges completely. I tried to make a layered template, but the file size was about 45-65MB, so I decided to do it this way instead to make the file size smaller.

Thanks to all the kind people who has been writing in my guestbook, at 4shared.com and on my e-mail. It is always nice to receive some positive response. I am happy if people like my freebies of course, but I am very also pleased that people bother to contact me regarding a broken link, some issues with 4shared.com, or has a question about a tutorial.

Someone asked regarding the "Worn paper overlays" posted above, if you have to change the layer blend mode to "overlay", when you paste the paper overlay into the new layer. It is not meant to be that way, just paste the paper overlay into a new layer, and that is it. Of course I can't force someone NOT to use blend mode "overlay" - LOL - but if you do so, you will miss the brown grungy edges and the white paper color will be changed. :-)

And now for the fun part -  here are this weeks freebies......

These staples are really "gone bad", but I hope that you like them anyhow....

http://www.4shared.com/Staples_fun_3.html
This "Little clip alpha" comes in 10 different colors and includes lower case letters, numbers and a few signs.

http://www.4shared.com/Little_clip_alpha.html
3 different grungy  "Beach papers" in .jpg format. These papers works great with the two "Worn paper overlays" above. The two other "Beach papers looks like this:
http://www.4shared.com/Grungy_beach_papers.html
And when you are at the beach, you of course would like to have an ice cream too!

There are 19 popsicle sticks in .png format with quotes and one empty one, so you can write your own text. And you could maybe use the staples above to attach them to your beach paper ... :-)

Hi there! Easter is coming up, and I really didn't plan to make any holiday freebies, but then this little bunny came hopping along... Be sure to pick up this "Easter bunny twill ribbon", because I have attached some other goodies as well - LOL. Here is a sneak peak:

Have a nice Easter everyone!

http://www.4shared.com/Easter_bunny_twill_ribbon.html

Ups, nearly forgot that I made six Easter bunny paper curls as well, you can download them here.

I have been working on some different word art lately, and this is the first one I made. You can se a preview of the content here (there is also a "Happy Easter" attached):

These words are made in .jpg format on a white background, and works best if you apply them on a light colored or white background. You can maybe use them on a small tag or something like that, as the letters are not too big? Paste them in their own layer and change the layer blend mode to "multiply" to make the white background invisible. Here I tried it on some of my tags:

This weeks freebie is 20 tiny tickets (5 different colors).

I have attached a grey scale ticket, so you can make some  tickets with your own text too. I used the free font “Trashed” (size 72) by Gyom Séguin which can be downloaded here: http://www.abstractfonts.com
Download the font, unzip it and save it in your C:\WINDOWS\Fonts folder.

Open the grey scale ticket and recolor it to your liking. Make a new layer using layer blend mode “Overlay” and opacity approx. 70%. Copy the "Border overlay" which is included in this bag, and paste it into the top layer.

Write your own text with a black color, using the font “Trashed” (size 72) and paste it into the empty middle part of the “Border overlay”. If you like, use the “Eraser tool” to slightly erase part of the text, so that it looks like the “Border overlay”. I used a grunge-style brush tip.

Merge the visible layers and your ticket is finished.

It might be easier to understand with some pictures, so have a look below.....

Download here: http://www.4shared.com/Tiny_tickets.html

So this is the second and last of the "Happy colors word art", and it contains the following words:

Now, I should of course have made these letters in .png format instead of on a white background, so you would be able to use them on all type of backgrounds. However it is a bit late now I am afraid, and instead I have posted links to the different free ornamental/western fonts I found here below, so now you can have a go at it yourself  and make your own words.......... ;-)

Not exactly the largest freebie I have made - LOL. This is just a tiny metal brad/staple or whatever it is called.....

http://www.4shared.com/Metal_brad.html
3 pieces of transparent tape. Paste the tape into a
separate layer, then you can adjust the opacity up/down
as you like depending on your background.

A good friend told me about this page http://www.photofunia.com, and I had so much fun making different pictures. Here are a few of the pictures I made with a photo of myself:

BTW have you checked out http://www.stumbleupon.com/ yet? I found so many cute and interesting links here, some of my favorites are:  Glass jar picture frames      Cute robot      Birthday-party-candy-sushi     Heart-shaped-paper-clips.html

I really need some new inspiration, so if you have got any ideas for new freebies, drop me a line either in the guestbook or on e-mail, and if possible I will try to make it.

So, "addicted2scrappin" you asked for the floral branch
from the first page, so here it is along with 3 other floral branches from my garden. My husband took the photos. :-)

http://www.4shared.com/Floral_branches.html
18 different tape pieces in .png format.

http://www.4shared.com/Tape_pieces.html
To celebrate an amazing 480.000 downloads (not far from 500.000 now - LOL), I thought you might like a small collection of desktop wallpapers, all in size 1024x768 and .jpg format. My husband Svenning took all these lovely floral photos, and you can download here: http://www.4shared.com/Wallpaper.html
These two bags each contains 6 different colored frames (colors are shown below), one floral overlay (I used the overlays on the bags above) and one stamp frame template in .psd format. The colors I used came from color palettes from this page http://www.colourlovers.com/. I sometimes tend to use the same colors over and over again in my LO's, and it was nice to get inspired to use some new fresh color palettes.

Use the stamp frame template to make your own frames, just paste your own color or pattern into the bottom layer, and merge the visible layers.

If you want to use the floral overlay, do like this:

1. Open one of the frames, make a new layer and select all (keep the selection).

2. Open the floral overlay, select all and copy.

3. Paste the floral overlay into the selection you just made on the new layer (1).

4. Change the layer blend mode on the top floral overlay layer to "burn", "multiply", "overlay" or whatever appropriate.

5. Merge the visible layers, and paste your photos into the frames.
Add different embellishments etc. etc.

Download here:

http://www.4shared.com/Stamp_frames9.html                        http://www.4shared.com/Stamp_frames10.html

If you want even more frames to chose from, you can download some additional frames here (colors are shown below).

10 binder clips in .png format.

http://www.4shared.com/Binder1.html
Yesterday I needed a paint roller for a layout, so I made this one, using a brush from "Kiho Chan" for the paint stroke. There are 12 different colored paint rollers in .png format and one grey scale paint roller in .psd format included in this bag, so you can decide the color of the paint yourself. Part of the paint is transparent.

This bag contains the puzzle frame above together with
4 other puzzle pieces (like the ones shown below), which can be used as frames. Drop shadow is not included.
